Audi Summer Concerts 2025

A high-caliber lineup, a zest for experimentation, and a clear commitment to promoting young talent – the program of the Audi Summer Concerts 2025 from June 21 to July 27 has been confirmed, and it once again features great diversity. Both international stars and up-and-coming talent will take to the stage. The nationally popular music festival also offers exceptional concert experiences for children and young people. Audi will showcase its innovative spirit with its own production, which will take place on the construction site of the new Museum of Concrete Art and Design Ingolstadt. Tickets for the concerts are now available.

As in previous years, the Audi Summer Concerts 2025 will also focus on promoting young talent. The music festival will begin on June 21 with the three winning compositions of the Audi Composers Competition – in collaboration with the chamber music ensemble Arcis Saxophone Quartet and vocal ensemble LauschWerk, which largely consists of active and former members of the Audi Young Persons’ Choral Academy. The winners of the composition contest were selected by a jury of experts from more than 140 entries. First place was awarded to Luis Suria Lorenzo from Spain for “The song wants to be light,” followed by Chris Kovarik from Canada for “Sister of the sun and moon” and Antoine Gabriel Brun from France for “Stellar, le chant de la témérité.” The jury also gave an honorable mention to the French composer Alain Berlaud, whose piece “Eclipse” just narrowly missed a place among the top three.

All of the compositions are based on an image that captures the theme of light in all its facets. The audience can also look forward to a special backdrop, as the compositions will be performed on the construction site of the new Museum of Concrete Art and Design, which is not yet open to the public. Accompanied by a dance performance, audience members will be guided through the new museum during this original Audi production. The result will be a fascinating fusion of music, movement, and space.

Xavier Ros, Member of the Board of Management for Human Resources and Organization at AUDI AG: “Culture and music bring people together, and this is more important than ever in uncertain times. With a unique blend of international stars and emerging talent, the Audi Summer Concerts provide a stage that connects generations. I am particularly proud of the events for children and young people. This is how we enable this young target group to access the world of classical music.”

Special performances for children and young people

Audi is making classical music accessible to the little ones with the Aurora Orchestra’s family concert on July 6. The British music pioneers – known for their innovative and boundary-breaking productions on international stages – will present their own version of Camille Saint-Saëns’ “The Carnival of the Animals.” The spectacular parade with movement, stage design, and light playfully introduces young concertgoers to the world of the diverse sounds of orchestral instruments.

At the children’s concert “ADUI” by the Audi Philharmonic Wind Orchestra on July 12, music-loving children will accompany superhero “ADUI” on his mission to find the four missing Audi rings. The music runs as a common theme through the story. In this refreshingly innovative commissioned work by Austrian trombonist, composer, and arranger Siegmund Andraschek, the children in the audience don’t have to sit still the whole time but are actively involved in the action.

The Salzburg Festival returns to Ingolstadt on July 26 with a musical theater production for children aged 8 and up. The play Berge flüstern laut [“Mountains whisper loudly”] by director Elli Neubert is about the legends and myths of Salzburg. The young audience members are taken on a search for wondrous creatures and experience strange places and magical happenings. Audi is also organizing another workshop for schoolchildren from the region on July 5.

By transcending the boundaries of genre, the Audi Summer Concerts 2025 once again demonstrate their traditional love of experimentation. The Stockholm chamber orchestra O/Modernt, known for its openness to all musical styles, is the perfect choice for this. The “wild Swedes” (Der Tagesspiegel) succeed in bridging the gap between baroque, classical, avant-garde, minimal, pop, rock, grunge, metal, and punk in a truly breathtaking way. On July 19, O/Modernt and British violinist Hugo Ticciati will present their latest concert project “Crossing over the Atlantic” at the Audi museum mobile, in which music by composer Benjamin Britten intersects with hits by Radiohead, Sting, and Pink Floyd.

Performances by global stars from the classical music scene

The Audi Summer Concerts will once again feature international stars from the classical music scene in 2025. For instance, star violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter will play with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the Festsaal of the Stadttheater on July 10, performing the second violin concerto composed for her by film composer John Williams. The works of the five-time Oscar winner are not only heard in concert halls; his music is also closely associated with cinema classics such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter. The program includes the film music “Hedwig’s Theme” from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

On July 27, accordionist Martynas Levickis will take to the stage in the Festsaal of the Stadttheater. The young star from Lithuania is internationally acclaimed for his virtuosity and versatility and conjures up sounds from his instrument that are as surprising as they are fascinating. In Ingolstadt, he will perform his own arrangement of George Bizet’s “Carmen Suite.”

On the second weekend of the festival, Audi will host the popular open-air classical music concerts in Ingolstadt’s Klenzepark. The program on June 27 will begin with musical highlights from the Audi Philharmonic Wind Orchestra and pianist Florian Glemser. The following day, guests will experience a German–Italian opera night with the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt and soprano Hila Baggio. Admission is free to both events in Klenzepark.
