Last year, the company generated a total sales volume of 8.346 billion euros* and accomplished investments worth a total volume of 220 million euros*. As the largest employer in the region and the most attractive employer in Hungary, Audi Hungaria employed 11,957 colleagues at the end of last year.
“Thanks to our expertise and high degree of flexibility, we have responded adequately to the global challenges and have thus completed a stable fiscal year with our team in 2022 as well. We see possibilities in the uncertainties of the economic situation and are continuing along our Next Level strategy. In the future, we will strengthen our competitiveness by expanding our product and service portfolio and bring the role of our company in the Hungarian economy and within the Volkswagen Group to the next level," said Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria.
Audi Hungaria generated a sales revenue of 8.436 billion euros* and accomplished investments of 220 million euros*. The company's investment priorities were primarily focused on the area of electromobility and specifically the production of electric axle drives, as well as on the preparation for the serial production of combustion engines such as the new generation of four-cylinder units. In addition, considerable investments were made to expand the capacity of the toolm shop, thus increasing the production area by 6,300 square meters for the exclusive series production. Colleaguesin Győr now produce body parts for the top models of the Audi and Volkswagen Group on an area of 58,300 square meters using state-of-the-art technologies. The total investment volume since the foundation of the company has reached the level of 12.172 billion euros* in 2022.
The company aims to increase its competitiveness in 2023, among other things, by establishing an independent subsidiary, AUDI HUNGARIA AHEAD Kft. The subsidiary will offer competence-based services in the areas of procurement, IT and finance for the Volkswagen Group.
“Overall, Audi Hungaria remains a particularly important player in the Hungarian economy, as it is one of the companies with the highest sales volume and one of the country's largest exporters. With AUDI HUNGARIA AHEAD Kft. we are taking our competence-based service portfolio to the next level and will further strengthen our competitiveness thanks to our business model," says Dr. Patrick Heinecke, Member of the Board of Directors of Audi Hungaria for Finance, IT, Procurement and Compliance.
Audi Hungaria, which was again named Hungary's most attractive employer in 2022, employed 11,957 colleagues at the end of last year, making it one of the country's largest employers.
Audi Hungaria has a CO2-neutral balance sheet since 2020. The company covers a significant part of its energy needs through Europe's largest rooftop photovoltaic system, which covers 160,000 square meters, and through the use of renewable energy in the form of geothermal energy. In addition, almost 100 percent of the resultant production waste is recycled - as for example through the Aluminium Closed Loop Project: the company has recycled aluminium into a closed loop, thereby saving considerable amounts of raw materials and CO2-emissions.
Audi Hungaria is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and will take further steps to strengthen its future sustainability. The transformation to electromobility continues: preparations for the production of the next generation of electric drives (PPE - Premium Platform Electric), as well as the new MEBeco drives (Modular E-Drive System) have already started. In addition, the series production of the CUPRA Terramar model will begin in 2024 at Audi Hungaria in Győr.
