Audi R8 LMS wins GT Asia Series opening event

The customers of Audi Sport customer racing achieved a total of seven podium results in Japan, Malaysia and Australia.
Audi R8 LMS GT3
Successful opener in Malaysia: The Singha Plan-B by Absolute Racing customer team clinched two trophies in the opening round of the GT Asia Series. The two Thai campaigners, Kantasak Kusiri and Bhurit Bhirombhakdi, won race two at Sepang in the Audi R8 LMS after having placed third in race one. Two other customer teams of Audi Sport completed a successful showing in Malaysia. The Chinese driver pairing, Cheng Congfu and Sun Jingzu, in another Audi R8 LMS took second place for Absolute Racing in race one. Filipino driver Vincent Floirendo and Adderly Fong from Hong Kong who drove an Audi R8 LMS as well with Team EN Sport by Absolute Racing achieved third position in race two.
Two podium places at Bathurst: Vince Muriti and Tim Macrow shared an Audi R8 LMS ultra in the class for production sports cars during the the Bathurst 6 Hour race weekend. In race two of the event, the driver duo achieved second position in front of Gary Higgon/Daniel Gaunt who drove an Audi R8 LMS.
Audi RS 3 LMS (TCR)
Podium result at Suzuka: Audi Team DreamDrive started the season in the Super Taikyu Series with a podium position. After five hours of racing, Naoto Takeda, Takuya Shirasaka and Shozo Tagahara in an Audi RS 3 LMS took third place in the TCR category on the circuit at Suzuka.

Grand appearance at Fuji: At the 2018 Audi Sport Conference, Audi Japan presented eight driver teams and their programs for the upcoming motorsport season in Japan to an audience of invited guests and members of the media. Toru Saito, President of Audi Japan, on the race track at Fuji presented the Audi Sport brand in his country and the racing program. Audi Team Hitotsuyama and Team Taisan, each fielding an Audi R8 LMS, are contesting the GT 300 classification of the leading Super GT racing series. Phoenix Racing Asia and J-Fly Racing by Phoenix Racing Asia are competing in the ST-X class of the Super Taikyu Series with a total of three Audi R8 LMS cars. Audi Team DreamDrive, Audi Team DreamDrive Noah and Birth Racing Project are racing with three Audi RS 3 LMS cars in the ST-TCR class of the Super Taikyu Series.
