After eight years, the Audi Forum’s jazz concert series is set to welcome back the Munich Swing Orchestra on Thursday, February 20, at 8 p.m. The 17-piece big band will be accompanied by singer Jasmin Bayer at the Audi museum mobile. Their program will focus on classics from the 1940s. Tickets for the concert are now available from the Audi ticket shop.

The Munich Swing Orchestra was formed in the year 2000 and is comprised of the traditional line-up of five saxophones, four trumpets, four trombones, guitar, bass, and drums – and add to that pianist Alexandra Fischer. Their set list features music from the great swing bands fronted by jazz legends such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Benny Goodman. The audience can look forward to timeless favorites such as “In the Mood,” “A-Tisket, A-Tasket,” “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,” and “Over the Rainbow.”

The big band, led by Jimmy Polivka, has been closely associated with the Audi Forum’s jazz concert series for many years. During the 2000s and 2010s, the Munich-based ensemble opened the fall season at the Audi museum mobile 14 consecutive times.

“A master of the jazz ballad”: vocal accompaniment by Jasmin Bayer

Jasmin Bayer will accompany the band on vocals. The Augsburg Allgemeine Zeitung once headlined an article about the singer: “A master of the jazz ballad.” Some years ago, the Süddeutsche Zeitung called her “a new star in the jazz sky.” Long established on the jazz scene, Bayer also regularly takes to the stage at the After Work Jazz Lounge at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt.

Tickets for the Munich Swing Orchestra concert on February 20 at 8 p.m. at the Audi museum mobile are now available for 25 euros (reduced price 20 euros) in the Audi ticket shop.
