Founded over 40 years ago with a handful of employees, today Audi Sport GmbH – formerly quattro GmbH – shapes the sporty, exclusive image of the brand with the four rings. Only the sportiest models bearing the four rings are permitted to use the abbreviations R and RS. In addition to dynamic models for its general customer base, the company handles customizations through the Audi exclusive program, the Audi collection, and Audi Sport racing. Audi Sport GmbH is headed by Rolf Michl, and Audi will enter Formula 1 for the first time in 2026. The independent Audi Formula Racing GmbH was founded as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Audi Sport GmbH for this purpose. Headed by CEO Adam Baker, the subsidiary is responsible for developing and producing the specially designed power unit.

We meet Roland Waschkau, responsible for the chassis development of the RS Q8 performance, in front of the hotel in Sitges. He points to the most powerful production vehicle with a combustion engine in Audi's history. His enthusiasm for the car is written all over his face. "The RS Q8 performance combines everyday practicality and sporty attributes like no other vehicle," enthuses the developer. The new performance version of the RS Q8 is the highest configuration level of its model series.

plus! At the former quattro GmbH, these four letters represented the particularly sporty derivatives of what were already highly performaning RS 6 and RS 7 models. They adhered to the philosophy of leveraging as much car technology as possible, i.e., teasing out an additional plus in driving dynamics – while retaining the everyday usability the vehicles were renowned for. In 2016, “plus” became “performance”, but the philosophy remained the same. It all began almost 30 years ago with the Audi S6 plus: A look, both back in time and into the future, at the highest performance cars in Audi’s portfolio.

150 years of “Innovation. Wagemut. Transformation”: new special exhibition on the traditional brand NSU

Two partners, one theme: NSU. In 2023, Audi and the city of Neckarsulm are celebrating 150 years of the traditional brand NSU. That is reason enough for Audi Tradition and the Deutsches Zweirad- und NSU-Museum Neckarsulm (German Motorcycle and NSU-Museum Neckarsulm) to reassert the long history of Audi’s Neckarsulm site and the history of NSU in the new special exhibition “Innovation. Wagemut. Transformation. 150 Jahre NSU” (in English: “Innovation. Audacity. Transformation. 150 Years of NSU”). The exhibition will be on display from June 14, 2023 to May 5, 2024 in the Audi Forum Neckarsulm and the Deutsches Zweirad- und NSU-Museum Neckarsulm. Additionally, an anniversary magazine is being published at the start of the exhibition: a solid 176 pages covering many facets of NSU history.

The new Audi RS 6 Avant GT

The new Audi RS 6 Avant GT is the pinnacle of the model series. The special edition is packed with exclusive details for both the exterior and the interior. An impressive pass-through roof edge spoiler, redefined diffuser, and 22-inch wheels in a distinctive design underscore its top position in the model series. The interior features high-quality bucket seats, a fresh color combination, and individual numbering in the center console as exclusive accents. Lightweight adjustable coilover suspension unique to the RS 6 Avant GT and a reworked quattro sport differential on the rear axle sharpen the driving experience. The twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine in a V-layout has an output of 463 kW (630 PS) and delivers 850 Nm of torque from 2,300 to 4,500 rpm. Delivery of the Audi RS 6 Avant GT will begin in the second quarter 2024, the price starts at 219,585 euro.
