Audi delivered around 1.7 million vehicles worldwide in 2024. More than 164,000 of those were fully electric models. Reasons for this overall decline of almost 12 percent (8 percent for fully electric models) compared to the previous year included the challenging economic conditions, an intensely competitive market, and limited availability of parts. In addition, the new product portfolio is only gradually having an impact on global sales volumes.
The course was covered in snow and the gradient was 85 percent – too steep to walk up in an upright position. “Driving for Audi Sport was like a childhood dream coming true,” says the now 46-year-old Mattias Ekström. “Looking back on more than two decades with the four rings brings back many memories. I had the chance to fulfill my dreams as a kid, like racing in the DTM, winning races and titles, and developing race cars. Winning the DTM title in 2004 is something I will cherish forever. But it was more than just motorsport. I had the chance to meet so many interesting and talented people and attended many great events. Being involved with the same company for so long is quite rare in motorsport, and I am very grateful for this period of my life. I can only say thank you to everyone at Audi.”

Another positive aspect of direct heating of the interior via the air circuit is the rapid heat-up/response behavior and thus a noticeable increase in comfort for the customer, both in terms of increasing the temperature of the interior in a shorter time and clearing the windscreen of condensation, snow, or ice. Impressive charging performance Another key component of the product experience is the charging performance of the Audi Q6 e-tron. Sophisticated thermal management of the high-voltage battery, the 800-volt electrical system, and its ecosystem make charging a convenient all-round carefree experience. The Audi Q6 e-tron only needs ten minutes at a fast-charging station to generate a range of up to 255 kilometers (158 mi) under ideal conditions with a maximum charging capacity of up to 270 kW. Only 21 minutes are needed to charge the high-voltage battery from 10 to 80 percent. The Audi Q6 e-tron is the first vehicle to offer bank charging on charging station that work with 400-volt technology. The 800-volt battery is automatically divided into two batteries at equal voltage, which can then be charged in parallel with up to 135 kW. Depending on the state of charge, both halves of the battery are first equalized and then charged together. A new integrated cooling plate with U-Flow architecture ensures homogeneous heat transfer and temperature distribution. The charging current limitation is always based on the warmest cells.
AMAG/Audi and snow sports – two things that simply belong together, and have done so for 55 years already, which is equivalent to a platinum wedding anniversary. And platinum is not only the world's most durable and robust precious metal, it is also thirty times rarer than gold and thus far more valuable. It's hard to say whether this long-standing partnership is worth its weight in gold, but the figures are impressive. By way of example, since the partnership began in 1968, Swiss ski athletes have taken part in a total of 15 Olympic Games, winning 108 medals across all sports, not to mention a haul of 229 World Ski Championships medals. In the Alpine Ski World Cup, the pro skiers have achieved a total of 1,782 podium places, including 645 victories and ten gold medals in the Nations Cup. Longest sponsorship partnership in Swiss sport While the athletes' figures are impressive to say the least, so are those of AMAG and Audi Switzerland. With almost 9,250 vehicles, they have been getting the top athletes safely to their destinations since 1968 – in all weathers and under the most adverse conditions. The foundation stone for the sponsorship commitment was laid in 1968 by Adolf Ogi – the then Director of Swiss-Ski. “I noticed that the athletes were never actually arriving at the races and training sessions feeling relaxed. Not least because they first had to lug six pairs of skis from the station to the hotel and then to the valley station. That's why I asked AMAG if they would provide VW buses to transport the ski team. This simple idea was the start of what is probably the longest sponsorship partnership in Swiss sport. And I would even go so far as to say that it was AMAG cars that drove the national skiing team to success”, the former Federal Councillor declared toTV presenter Rainer Maria Salzgeber at the anniversary celebration marking the 55-year partnership, which was held at the Audi e-tron energy bar in Grindelwald in mid-October.
“I drove this car once before in Davos on snow and ice. And now I had to realize that the power is so extreme even on asphalt that I could have drifted the entire track. I’ve never experienced anything like that before.” The series of electrically powered prototypes for sport and action finally culminates in the latest design: The Audi RS Q e-tron as the current race car of Mattias Ekström, Stéphane Peterhansel and Carlos Sainz is designed for the toughest conditions imaginable. It has an electric drive with energy converter and high-voltage battery. The concept proves itself in relentless use at desert rallies and copes with extreme demands on energy management. Audi achieved overall victory in the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge in 2022 with this prototype. In two Dakar appearances to date, the brand has also achieved six stage victories with it and a total of 28 podium results in the daily standings. This spectacular quintet of models made some of the most legendary racers dream for a day, just as electric drives from Audi make the dream of high efficiency with maximum driving pleasure come true in everyday life. Inspired by the world of snow: Audi Sport GmbH is presenting the Audi RS e-tron GT ice race edition to mark its 40th birthday. The special model, limited to 99 units, impresses with its fascinating exterior and matching interior. High performance in all classes: Audi Sport GmbH has systematically expanded its model portfolio. It is now comprised of 16 models, more than ever before – models with 2+2 coupe, roadster, sedan, Avant, Sportback, and SUV coupe layouts. In 2019, Audi Sport GmbH launched its largest RS model offensive to date within a single year, offering the largest product portfolio ever. The sporty subsidiary of AUDI AG added seven new versions to its range, which included twelve models at the time: the TT RS as a coupe and roadster, the RS 6 Avant, the RS 7 Sportback, the RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback, and the RS Q8.
The color tones of the world of snow are reflected on the outer skin of the body and are continued in the interior. With its basic color Florett silver metallic and the black carbon roof in combination with a striking foil warp, the Audi RS e-tron GT ice race edition appears magical at first sight. The colors silver and white symbolize sparkling snow crystals and ice lakes, the purple accents evoke images of shimmering ski goggles. The precise accentuations and transparent patterns harmoniously, yet excitingly, reproduce the style of mountainous winter worlds. This color scheme is continued in the interior: seat center panels, shoulder arches and side bolsters in diamond silver leather emphasize this character. Combined with black leather sections and contrasting purple stitching, the four-door Gran Turismo spoils you with an exclusive ambience. Striking details round off the interior experience. “This new style of the ice race edition underscores the emotional pinnacle of electric mobility at Audi,” says Bernhard Neufeld, Head of Audi exclusive. “Our customization gives this electric Gran Turismo a very special personality.” The ice race edition is inspired by the design ideas of the Audi RS e-tron GT ice race concept show car and is now available in a special edition of only 99 units for Europe. The basis for the limited edition is the unchanged 440 kW RS e-tron GT. Customers can charge it at more than 500,000 public charging points in Europe with a single card using the Audi charging service. With fast DC charging at a maximum of 270 kW, five minutes of charging time is sufficient for about 100 kilometers of driving under ideal conditions. Exterior with unique combination of paint and foil wrap Started in 1952 and revived in 2019, the GP Ice Race event is derived from Scandinavian skijoring, but the race cars pull the skiers and there are show and demo runs.
