Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron
Welcome on board: The spaciousness of the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron far exceeds the current class limits, offering space that rivals any luxury-class car. The display concept also takes it to the next level: The augmented reality head-up display combines the real and virtual worlds. The MMI display and the new generation of steering wheels with touch controls emphasize the electric car’s systematic course for the future.
Versatile all-rounders for everyday use that transfer the progressive design of the concept cars into series production and that can be driven locally without any emissions: The Audi Q4e-tron and the Q4 Sportback e-tron are the first compact electric SUVs from the brand with the Four Rings.
Both of them impress with a new spacious dimension in the interior and pioneering solutions when it comes to operation, display, and assist systems. The augmented reality head-up display connects the virtual and the real worlds in a totally new way. The range comprises three drive versions, spearheaded by a quattro model with a maximum output of 220 kW (299 PS)(Maximum output determined according to UN-GTR.21.). Attributes that they all share are zero local emissions driving and high ranges, charging times of around ten minutes for sufficient power to travel about 130 kilometers (80.8 mi) in ideal conditions (WLTP) and convenient charging with the e-tron Charging Service. The rear-wheel drive Q4 40 e-tron achieves a range of up to 520 kilometers (323.1 mi) in the WLTP cycle. It goes on sale in Europe in June 2021, with prices in Germany starting at EUR 41,900 – where the customer can claim a subsidy of EUR 9,000 (net). Production of the Audi brand’s first electric SUV gets under way in Germany Modular electric drive matrix creates synergies and spaciousness Carbon-neutral production at the multi-brand plant in Zwickau
Audi goes “back to its roots”: In Zwickau in Saxony, the birthplace of this long-standing German company, production of the Audi Q4e-tron has finally started. The fully electric compact model is the first electric SUV to be produced by Audi in Germany. The Q4e-tron features a Volkswagen-made modular electric drive matrix (MEB), a highly versatile and variable platform that is suitable for numerous fully electric models and offers considerable scope for leveraging synergies.
At the multi-brand plant in Zwickau, the Audi Q4e-tron will be rolling off the same production line as the Volkswagen ID.4 and, in the future, another Volkswagen model. Here, 1,400 assembly line employees of Volkswagen Saxony are also producing the compact electric SUV, which, thanks to the MEB interior architecture, offers spaciousness on a par with the full-size class. Working alongside their colleagues from Volkswagen, more than one hundred Audi employees prepared for the start of production – from production planning and technical development through to quality assurance. The press tools for producing the body parts all come from Audi’s very own toolmaking shop. With its expressive design, the Audi Q4e-tron poses enormous challenges when it comes to precision and surface perfection. Audi toolmakers from Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm were involved right from the initial development stages. The process of trying out the press tools, which weigh many tons, also took place in Audi plants. Peter Kössler, AUDI AG board member for Production and Logistics: “The cross-brand collaboration in Zwickau demonstrates once again the enormous synergy potential that we enjoy with the Volkswagen Group.

This enables an electric range of up to 412 kilometers (256.0 miles) (Sportback: 423 kilometers, 262.8 miles). Under ideal conditions, the battery’s state of charge (SoC) increases from 10 to 80 percent in just 24 minutes when charged at a fast-charging station. Up to 150 kilometers (93.2 miles, Sportback: 155 kilometers, 96.3 miles) can be recharged in ten minutes. The maximum DC charging power is 165 kW.
