Nikita Misyulya joins the Audi Sport TT Cup for the 2015 season from the Spielberg round onwards, the third race weekend of the year. The young Russian only began his motorsport career in 2013, but has quickly shown his talent by winning the Lada Granta Cup in his first year, followed in 2014 by taking two wins and becoming the vice-champion in the Super1600 category of the FIA European Rallycross Championship. Misyulya is still a full-time participant in the European series. He lives by the motto “pushing it to the limit” and has also taken part in bike trials for ten years, including five years with the national Russian team. Meeting of the Audi Sport TT Cup drivers at Barcelona
Christoph Hofbauer used his free weekend to visit his one-make cup rivals Anton Marklund and Nikita Misyulya at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Besides contesting the Audi Sport TT Cup, both drivers are on the grid of the World Rallycross Championship as well. “It’s great to also get some insight into other motorsport series and there’s really a lot of action in rallycross,” Hofbauer said. Next weekend, the three young drivers will be climbing into the cockpits of their cup race cars again. On September 26 and 27, the fifth of six race weekends in the Audi Sport TT Cup will take place at the Nürburgring.

A glance at Audi’s motorsport history The visitors of the FIA WEC Nürburgring round could not only see the two Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars at the six-hour race. In the historic paddock of the tradition-steeped circuit, the fans admired the 1985 Pikes-Peak winning Audi Sport quattro, an Audi 90 quattro from the IMSA GTO series, the Audi R8 LMS ultra that was victorious in the 2014 Nürburgring 24 Hours and the Audi R8 that clinched the first Le Mans win for the brand. In this very car, Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro and Tom Kristensen won in 2000 and were reunited next to the car for a photo. Audi welcomes Michael Groß at the Nürburgring Five-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist Michael Groß was a guest of Audi’s at the Nürburgring. The former swimming star has been following Audi’s motorsport programs for years and attended an FIA WEC event for the first time. The state-of-the-art technology and the engineers’ work was what impressed Groß the most. Audi also welcomed Vincent Vosse in the Eifel, a team director from Audi Sport customer racing. He is the head of Belgian Audi Club Team WRT that won the Nürburgring 24 Hours with the Audi R8 LMS in May.
A word from … Mike Rockenfeller How would you sum up the weekend at Moscow? For me, this round was a roller-coaster ride this year. My qualifying on Saturday was not particularly good and the race afterwards was harmless. Then we made some minor changes that went exactly in the right direction. I had a tremendous car and, with the pole position and victory, a fantastic afternoon. I was very impressed by the fact that we managed this turnaround. Your last victory dates to 2013, also at Moscow. What’s your impression of the country and the people? I just like the race at Moscow. The people – be they fans or media – know a lot about racing and are enthusiastic whenever the DTM arrives.

Art and motorsport at Audi museum mobile A view of racing from a different perspective will be offered by the Audi museum mobile from September 23, 2015 to February 28, 2016. The exhibition titled ‘Pit Stop – The Art of Motorsport’ will present 22 works of the artist Stephan Quenkert from Landshut, Germany. His ‘Concrete Art’ objects refer to photographs from racing, but reduce their forms and contents, while featuring concentrated colors. In addition to the three-dimensional wall sculptures, the exhibition attracts visitors with a display of real-world race cars. Fans can look forward to seeing a 1939 Auto Union Type D, a 2001 Audi R8, a 2012 R18 e-tron quattro, a 2011-generation A4 DTM and a 2009 R8 LMS. Jamie Green visits Hoffmann Group Audi DTM driver Jamie Green and Arno Zensen, Team Director of Audi Sport Team Rosberg, attended the ‘DTM Racing Day’ hosted by the Hoffmann Group’s branch in Achim. In front of more than 1,100 guests, Jamie Green, who in the DTM represents the colors of Europe’s leading system partner for quality tools, gave interviews and was busy signing autographs. The visitors had an opportunity to catch a whiff of DTM air as well, trying out their driving skills on simulators set up at the event, showing their adeptness at changing tires and doing some laps on a kart track.
