Drive Away e-tron S Sportback and A3 Sedan

Audi is consistently pressing ahead with the electrification of its models: the all-electric-drive Audi e-tron S Sportback and Audi A3 Sedan in a mild hybrid version have now been added to the brand’s product portfolio. Thanks to its 48-volt electrical system, the compact notchback model can recuperate energy, provide boost energy or coast with the engine switched off. The aerodynamics also contribute significantly to the efficiency of both vehicles. The Audi e-tron S Sportback, for example, features flow-through wheel arches that result in a superior drag coefficient. As the flagship of the series, it has a total of three electric motors and electric torque vectoring. The result of this dynamic distribution of torque between the two electric motors on the rear axle: the type of nimble transverse dynamics previously found only in sports cars.

The brand’s compact model is also sporty. The concave flank and digital daytime running lights distinguish the A3 Sedan, as do the coupé-like roof and distinctive rear spoiler. Progressive steering, electronically controlled dampers and the Audi drive select driving dynamic handling system make the wide divergence between comfort and sportiness especially palpable. Audi is also introducing luxury class technologies into the compact segment with the touch operating concept featuring handwriting recognition, the speech dialogue system, the digital instrument cluster and the adaptive cruise assist.
